Registering under the county subscription scheme is straightforward once you have been given a password by one of your county advisers. Simply visit the Foundation Stage Forum registration page - this can be reached from any FSF page by clicking the 'Register' link on the green bar near the top of the screen.
Once you've checked the box to say you agree with the terms and conditions of useage of the Forum, you will be taken to the registration page, which looks like this:
First, choose a username. This can be whatever you like - your full name, or a name specifically for the Forum - some people choose exotic or humorous names such as butterfly or cinderella. (NB - Although some people choose to, It is best not to give your email address as your username, as then it will be displayed every time you log in for others to see.)
Next you'll be asked to choose an individual password. This first password field is a place for you to choose your own password - you will use this in conjunction with your username any time you wish to log into your account, and it enables you to log into the Forum whereever you may be.
In the following field you'll need to input an email address. Your email address is not available to other members unless you contact them directly - it is a good idea to make sure you get this correct, as once you're reading and contributing to the conversations you can choose to be notified when new replies are made. If you've entered your email address incorrectly, these notifications won't get through to you. The FSF never makes these email addresses available to any other party, and you can choose not to receive email even from the FSF if you wish!
After this you need to put in the LEA Registration Password - this is the password you will have been given by your LEA adviser. (If you haven't yet got one of these passwords you will need to make contact with the administrator for the LEA scheme in your area, who you can find by clicking here.
And that is all you need to fill out. The LEA subscription bypasses the next step, which would ordinarily be to subscribe by paying a £20 fee - but in your case the county organisation responsible for your area has paid this fee for you. There are some more optional fields to fill out if you are happy to - otherwise click the 'submit' button.
And welcome to the Foundation Stage Forum and a great community of Foundation Stage professionals!
