A highly useful book for everyone working with babies, toddlers and under 3s, with a clear and purposeful balance of child development theory and practical ideas for high quality yet simple experiences for babies and very young children.
The book is organised into three sections according to age bands:
- Babies-Birth to 12 months
- Toddlers- 1 to 2 years
- Very young children-2 to 3 years
Within each section there are five broad theme areas which discuss succinctly the relevant aspects of child development and offer a wealth of ideas for stimulating activities and experiences that you can provide for your children, whether you work as a childminder, nursery practitioner or EYP, or if you are undergoing training in early years care and education.
The five areas within each age-band are:
- Developing relationships
- Using the senses
- Language and creative development
- Physical development
- Using the environment
This book is highly recommended due to its visual appeal, easy-to-dip-into format, excellent notes on child development, and sound advice and suggestions for providing the best learning experiences for babies and very young children.
